The “Ficha Limpa” (Clean Record) Campaign of the 2030 Agenda

Several goals of the 2030 Agenda highlight the importance of adequate public policies and legislation to ensure their effective implementation.

Considering that this year Brazilian citizens will exercise their political right by choosing, through voting, their representatives for the State and Federal Government, as well for the State and National Legislative Houses, the Rede ODS Brasil is launching the “Ficha Limpa” (Clean Record, in English) Campaign of the 2030 Agenda.

The objectives of the Campaign are:

  • Contribute to Targets 16.5 and 16.6 of the 2030 Agenda, by democratizing and giving visibility to the Law No. 9,840 (the law against vote buying) and the Complementary Law No. 135/2010 (“Ficha Limpa” Law). Both laws are result of the Movement to Combat Electoral Corruption (MCCE, in portuguese), to which the Rede ODS is linked.
  • Identify the legislation in progress and/or in effect that ensure the effective implementation of the 2030 Agenda and classify them as “Ficha Limpa” (Clean Record) of the 2030 Agenda.
  • Identify the legislation in progress and/or in effect that block the effective implementation of the 2030 Agenda and classify them as “Ficha Suja” (Questionable Record, in English) of the 2030 Agenda.
  • Enable and strengthen social control.

The role of Local Governments and Legislative Houses in the implementation of 2030 Agenda will also be addressed at the 3rd National Meeting of the Rede ODS Brasil, to be held on 5-6 of June in Brasilia.
